a cyclopaedia of everything pertaining to the care of bees, honey bees, hives, implements, honey plants, compiled from facts gleaned from the experiences of thousands of bee keepers all over our land and afterward verified by practical work in the authors own apiary.
About Mr. Root- amoung major contributions was to devise a method to harvest honey without destroying the beehive. he founded his bee/honey business in medina, ohio and became nationally and internationally known for his bee/honey expertise and became a wealthy businessman. the abc of bee culture was first written in 1879 and has been updated to the present day as the abc and xyz of bee culture.
He had an avid interest in flight which he shared with the wright brothers, of near by dayton, ohio and had a life long friendship with helen keller.
the front and back covers of the book and the interior pages are fully intact and bound and the protective sheets are intact over the picture pages, the overall condition of the item is very good.
